This week - Calgary Tournament

Wednesday - Training out at UBC @ 6.30-8.30pm and later on at Mahoney's

IMPORTANT CALGARY INFORMATION
The Cougars are fielding a side combined with the Eagles. We will have around 22 guys in total!

The travel details are as follows -

Three vehicles are leaving Vancouver on Thursday 5th July (5:30pm Sharp). Call if leaving work for this time is difficult and I will see what can be arranged. We will be travelling in 2 seven seater vans and 1 SUV. Stuart, Ted, Karl are driving. Eagles players have arranged transportation but are welcome to car pool etc if required. The transportation cost will be around $50 return! The club will try and cover fuel costs!

MEET at AVIS rental CARS located on 906 West Broadway (next to Ramada Hotel). Stuart's cell is 604-8316095 if you get lost!

Keep luggage to a minimum - it will be hot in Calgary (expecting 30+ degrees all weekend!) Vans may have DVD players so bring your favourite show!

We will be driving to Salmon Arm for Thursday night. This will be stop #1. It will be likely $25-30 per person! Next morning we will travel into Calgary (arrive around lunch). We will be buying tickets to the stampede grounds at a Mac's convenience store - cost around $13. Once in Calgary we will check into the Hotel (we have 5 rooms booked and that is around 20 beds!) The hotel is the Carriage House - which is 5 minute walk to the Light Rail that takes us down to the Stampede grounds - that way - no one needs to risk drinking and driving etc! each night will cost around $60-$75 per person.

At the Stampede grounds we can line up for tickets to the actual stampede - costs vary depending on seats/standing etc. The fireworks is also a great stage show - event and is later that evening. Naturally - there are many bars on the grounds and if you wish to leave the grounds you are very close to the city etc!

Saturday is FOOTY DAY - at 2pm we play our first game - so we will need a good sleep in!

Saturday night is party night for all those wishing to tear up Calgary! Recommend that you pack your blue jeans, cowboy boots and hat! Everyone wears Western!!!!

Sunday will be both a day of rest and a good day to grab some brucnh!

Ted's van is staying till Monday - that allows for 6 other people. Jessica and Jason have reserved a seat on this bus and I am hoping that there are four others keen to stay on for "just one more day!!!".

Stuart's van (7) and Karls truck (5) will be leaving mid morning Sunday driving straight through - arriving back at Vancouver late Sunday night!
