CooperPeat at the B&F

Cougars Awards

In an exciting vote count that went down to the wire, Tony Cooper won a historic 3rd Cougars B&F award at the BCFooty Gala B&F night. After shooting out to a huge lead early in the season, Coops saw his lead slowly taken away by Doug Vargo in the 10th round of voting. With 4 rounds to go Stu Grills took the lead after some huge late season performances. However, a 5,3,3 set of votes on Grand Final Day saw Coops take back the lead and a well deserved Duncan McFarlane B&F award.

Eagles Awards

In another close count, the Eagles had the first B&F tie in BCFooty history with Paul "Stinky" Atkinson and Charles "Chuck" Buchanan tieing for the award. The award was a phenonimal result for both guys for different reasons. Stinky was a dominate centreline player for the Eagles all year and held on for his share of the award despite missing the last 6 games of the year when he returned to Australia. Chuck was a extremely versatile CHB/Ruckman who came from a Rugby background in Oz and had never really played Aussie rules before, yet managed to poll consistently all year to grab his piece. Unfortunately for the Eagles, with Chuck holidaying in Mexico and Stinky in Oz, neither could be on hand to accept their award. Dale Wakefield's consistent goal-sneaking abilities throughout the year earned him the medal for 2nd place.
