Yard Ventures to the rescue

Well, for all those who attended last nights training out at UBC, you would have to agree that it was certainly a beautiful night for training and it was great to play the mixed Gaelic/Aussie rules games.

For one person though, there was something that just kept nagging him for most of the session that he kept largely to himself, but eventually he just couldn't take it any more. Yes, the perfectionist landscaper and amateur arborist, one Stu "Yard Ventures" Grills just couldn't get it out of his head that the shadows being cast over the field in the late evening sun were preventing him from making 100% accurate umpiring decisions in the 2 games. On at least two occasions he incorrectly called blatant marks as pushes in the back...which he was quick to blame on the dark shadows for blocking his view.

So what did he do about it? Well, as this exclusive photo for VancouverCougars.Com, shows exactly what he did. "Yard Ventures" Grills simply got some of his clippers out of his truck, monkeyed up the offending tree and chopped down the branch in question...

Independent observers noted that despite the improved light, Grills decisions did not appear to drastic effect the quality of his decisions.

Here's a quick clip from Guru Edmonds of some of the training action from last night...
